Taking a Shot - Release Day Blast

Image
Meet the Author: Taryn Leigh Taylor likes dinosaurs, bridges, and space, both personal and of the final frontier variety. She shamelessly indulges in cliches, most notably her Starbucks addiction (grande-six-pump-whole-milk-no-water chai tea latte, aka: the usual), her shoe hoard (I can stop anytime I...ooh! These are pretty!), and her penchant for falling in lust with fictional men with great abs (Roarke, Harvey Specter, Kid Chaos, Dean Winchester, and so on, ad infinitum.) She also really loves books, which is what sent her down the crazy path of writing one in the first place. Connect:  Site | Facebook | Twitter | Goodreads About the Book: If you don’t shoot, you don’t score… Hockey star Brett Sillinger's never been afraid of a little trouble. But when his personal life ends up in the tabloids, he knows his career is on thin ice. Luckily, a new team decides to take a chance on him. All he has to do is keep head in the game. But when temptation ...

The Honeymoon Trap - My Review

Image
The Honeymoon Trap by Christina Hovland is a very fun romantic story with some great emotional and in-depth characters. This is a new author for me and I really did enjoy her novel. It all beings with Lucy Campbell who has just started her new job as a producer at the TV station in town called Confluence. There she runs into Will Covington, her old crush. She met him when he starred on a reality TV show that she was an intern at. Back then she was the dorky chubby girl way in the background that no one really noticed. Now, she's lost weight and has advanced her career so she is ready to take on the world and keep moving on up in her chosen career. And she is not going to let Will ruin anything even though he is her new manager and the sparks are starting to fly between them.  Will has inherited the TV station after his mother passed away and he has grand plans for it, so long as his meddlesome father doesn't mess that up for him. He's currently not on speaking te...

How To Train Your Baron - My Review

Image
I love a good redemption story and How To Train Your Baron  is definitely that. Elsinore Cosgrove is the quirky heroine with a penchant for finding herself in troublesome spots. In one of these irksome situations is where she meets the hero Quin Graham, a man with secrets and a painful past. These two find themselves in an compromising predicament that leads to Quin asking for Elsinore's hand in marriage. Actually, it was more like forced into it by her father the Duke but Quin agreed and the two wed very soon after meeting. Then, Elsinore is whisked off to Quinn's estate in the Highlands of Scotland where mayhem and mystery abounded.  Elsinore is the youngest of six daughters born to a duke and she has always felt the odd man out in her family. They treat her like a child and talk down to her in a condescending way that just gets old after a while. This is why she is excited at the prospect of marrying Quinn. However, she comes to the realization that Quinn is not ...

Once Upon a Player - My Review

Image
There are many popular tropes within the romantic novel genre of books and one of my favorite has always been the bad boy who falls for the good girl. This is the premise of  Christina Phillips' book Once Upon a Player.  This isn't a complicated book with sweeping drama or long complicated action pages. This is the simple story of how Lucas Carter, a man who appeared to have just about anything a guy could want, met and fell in love with Violet Henderson. Sometimes the best stories are actually the most simple ones. Violet is filling in for her mother's housekeeping job at some rich jock's place. She goes in and finds the place a mess from a party the previous night. Thinking no one was home, she began picking the place up until Lucas waltzed out wearing nothing but his skivvies! This was the introduction to the main characters folks! Talk about a Hello and Good Morning! Next we find out that Lucas is  currently benched from his soccer career due to a knee in...
